Matthew Sollogoub, Winner of the Verdaguer Prize from the Foundation Institute of France

Professor of Organic Chemistry at UPMC, Matthew Sollogoub received the Verdaguer Award, a prize given annually, based on nominations from the French Academy of Sciences and Fine Arts for exceptional work in arts, letters or sciences. 

As the team leader for "Glycochemistry organic, biological and supramolecular" at the Paris Institute of Molecular Chemistry (CNRS/UPMC), Matthew Sollogoub is recognized for his research on glycochemistry, including the methodology for converting sugars into original structures mimicking intermediates of the enzymatic hydrolysis reaction of sugars and methodology of functionalizing cyclodextrins.
