SG TICE - The ICT Department

Mission:

The Service Général des Technologies de l’Information et de la Communication pour l’Enseignement (SGTICE), or ICT department, is responsible for developing and implementing the ICT development policy at UPMC.

 

Activities:

The SGTICE is in charge of:

  • Promoting and developing the use of information and communication technologies by the teaching staff and students;
  • Helping professors with the design and production of innovation projects which use ICT;
  • Promoting innovative use of ICT by any appropriate means;
  • Lead the discussion on the evolution of teaching practices through the use of ICT;
  • Monitoring developments in ICT and promoting the dissemination of ideas and research results in the field;
  • Representing UPMC in the ICT field for national and international projects which involve partnerships.


The SGTICE is made up of four services:

  • L’UTĔS (Use of Educational Technologies in Science): UPMC’s ICT innovation in education center for students and teaching staff;
  • The CPM (Multimedia Production Center): at the service of professors and researchers;
  • The FOAD (Open and Distance Learning): manages the courses that UPMC offers partially or entirely through distance learning;
  • TICE-Med: responsible for developing ICT in the medical sector.
