Industrial Computer Science, Imaging and Signals specialization (M2)

This specialization aims to train students in the fields of imagery and signal processing in a broad sense, from images to audio. These fields are becoming increasingly integrated in an industrial world with special requirements in terms of computer hardware and software. This specialization prepares students for research careers or to become research and development engineers. Two second year options can lead to a PhD or to employment in a company; the last program, an apprenticeship, leads exclusively to employment in the corporate world.

Career prospects can be found in sectors such as transport, automobile or aernautics, communications, imagery or consumer or professional electronics. Among the companies and established concerned are:Alcatel, the CEA, the CNES, the Cogema, Digigram, EADS, EDF, ESA, Faurecia, France Télécom R&D, HP France, IBM France, Ifremer, Océ Print Technologies, PSA, Renault, Sagem, Thalès, Valéo, IBM, DxO, SMProcess, Citylog as well as numerous IT consultancy firms. The fields covered include physics, control engineering and IT languages specific to the specialization.




This specialization offers several programs:

  • Signal processing for sound and images,
  • Industrial imagery (alternating education)
  • Industrial computer science.

The alternating education program, organized in partnership with the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Versailles Val d’Oise Yvelines, is conducted differently and covers the whole two years, although it may exceptionally be possible to join the course in M2.

Well-targeted public

The M2 is open to M1 students who can justify to having the necessary skills, and to students with Honours in physics or computer science who meet the prerequisites in signal processing, engineering mathematics and computer science. The specialization is also open to continuing education candidates.
