Top-Level Sport Programme: A Tradition of Support at UPMC

UPMC started providing assistance for top-level athletes in 1987.  Nearly 1,000 students have received assistance since the beginning of the programme.  In 2007-2008, fifty athletes were provided with personalised support.
To facilitate students' transition to work, the university has created a UPMC graduate top-level student athlete certificate of accreditation, signed by the university's chancellor and the national technical director of the relevant sports federation.  Moreover, cooperation agreements have been signed with INSEP (Institut National de Sport et de l'Education Physique; French National Institute of Sport and Physical Education) and the Regional department for youth and sports. The French National Olympic and Sports Committee (Comité national olympique et sportif français) has officially recognised the courses offered by UPMC.  A top-level student athlete charter was created in 1999.  On signing the charter, the athlete commits to respecting the professional ethics of competition sports, particularly with regard to doping.  They represent the university in university competitions.

Why choose UPMC for your studies?
Trying to reconcile their studies and training requirements without special provisions puts top-level student athletes at a great disadvantage.  However, UPMC has decided to meet this challenge with you.
