Institute of Statistics (ISUP)

ISUP

ISUP, created in 1922, is the premier centre for the teaching of statistics in France.

ISUP courses are for three years. The first academic year enables students to acquire a general knowledge base, specifically in probabilities and statistics. In the second and third years, teaching is split between the core syllabus and the course options: industry and services, biostatistics and actuarial studies. There are between 40 and 45 students in each year. The teaching staff is made up of UPMC teacher-researchers and part-time teachers who are generally industry professionals.

Students who have completed year 3 of their degree (L3), or MA years 2 or 3, majoring in mathematics, or equivalent degree, may apply for admission to the school on the basis of prior qualifications. The procedure for admission on the basis of prior qualifications consists in the review of the dossier by a board that decides whether the student should go into the first or the second year, following, where necessary, an interview.

Application packs, available from the ISUP secretariat must be returned by July 10 2008 at the latest to the following address: UPMC - ISUP, Admission sur titres, Casier 157 - Maison de la pédagogie, 4, place Jussieu 75252 Paris Cedex 05
