Medical reference resources

The Common Medical Reference Service of UPMC consists of eight libraries spread across four sites (the Saint-Antoine, Pitié-Salpêtrière, Tenon and Trousseau Hospitals). The Common Medical Reference Service is intended to provide reference support to the teachers of the medical and paramedical courses of study of UPMC as well as to provide research professors and hospital practitioners with reference material for medical research and clinical practice.

- The two university libraries:

Located in Saint Antoine and Pitié-Salpêtrière, their collections are particularly adpated to the needs of students of medicine and those doing paramedical courses of study. Notably, they provide multiple copies of works and textbooks for preparation for the first year of medical studies (PCEM1), the National Ranking Examination (ECN) and competitive paramedical exams. These two libraries are open in the evenings from Monday to Friday until 10pm (Saint-Antoine) and 11pm (Pitié-Salpêtrière).

- The three university hospital libraries:

Based in Saint Antoine, Tenon and Trousseau, these offer specialised collections intended for students in the 2nd and 3rd cycles and professionals working in the medical field, particularly hospitals.

- The three specialist libraries:

Located on the site of the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital, the Charcot, Dechaume and Delarue Libraries are open to students in the 3rd cycle who are specialising in the fields covered by these libraries (neurology, stomatology and maxillofacial surgeryfaciale, pathological anatomy).
