Origins of Life: Self-Organization and/or Biological Evolution?

During the workshop “Origins of Life: Self-Organization and/or Biological Evolution?”, specialists in biology, physics, chemistry, mathematics, astrophysics, Earth sciences, philosophy… developed concepts of self-organization and biological evolution which could bring new ideas to understand the origins and development of life on Earth. This book presents contributions made at the workshop, which was organized by the CNRS Interdisciplinary program “Origins of Planets and Life” and held at the École Normale Supérieure, Paris, on October 3, 2008.
