Julia Contreras-Garcia, awarded the European High Pressure Research Group (EHPRG) Prize

Julia Contreras-Garcia, CNRS researcher and member of the Theoretical Chemistry Laboratory (LCT, UPMC/CNRS) has received the Young Scientist Award from the European High Pressure Research Group (EHPRG).

This prize has been awarded annually since 1990 to a researcher for their work in the field of high pressure. This year, The EHPRG recognizes Julia Conteras-Garcia's work on the characterization of electronic structure and chemical bonding. In particular, the application to the characterization of changes undergone by the materials subjected to high pressure, such as the insulating nature of the metals at high pressure, which introduces a whole new way to understand their electronic structure.
