Frédéric Hecht, winner of the EADS Corporate Foundation Academy of Science Award

Professor at the Jacques-Louis Lions Laboratory (CNRS/UPMC), Frédéric Hecht has received the 2013 EADS Corporate Foundation Academy of Sciences Award in the category Sciences and engineering.

Professor at the Jacques-Louis Lions laboratory (CNRS/UPMC), Frédéric Hecht was awarded the 2013 EADS Corporate Foundation Academy of Science Award in the category Created by EADS, the award recognizes the work of someone in a French laboratory who has contributed to the vitality and influence of technology research and innovation, maintaining a particularly fruitful cooperation with industry, and with an impact remarkable in the areas of aerospace.

Frédéric Hecht specializes in using computers for the resolution of partial differential equations of physics and engineering. His work in flow simulation have contributed to the creation of two software structures using the most advanced computer data. One is GHS3D, used by aircraft manufacturers, and other Freefem++, a solver of partial differential equations used by professionals worldwide.
