Georges Calas Elected Fellow of the Geochemical Society

Georges Callas

Georges Calas, professor at UPMC and at the University Institute of France and researcher at the Institut de Minéralogie et de physique des milieux condensés Nouvelle fenêtre(CNRS-UPMC), has been elected Fellow of the Geochemical Society and of the European Association of Geochemistry.

This distinction is accorded to scientists who have made a major contribution to the field of geochemistry in the course of their career. It is reserved for less than 1% of the members of each society each year. The ceremony is to be held during the 19th Goldschmidt conference at Davos next June.

The Geochemical Society is a not-for-profit scientific society founded to encourage the use of geochemistry in geology and cosmology.

The European Association of Geochemistry was founded to promote geochemistry research in Europe. Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta and Chemical Geology are the official journals of these two societies.
