European Summer School "Climate, Environment and Innovation" at UPMC

65 Master and Doctoral students, of 26 nationalities from 16 European universities, traveled together all over Europe, to France, Germany, The Netherlands, Switzerland and the United Kingdom in July and August 2011, to understand the issues related to climate change (causes, consequences, uncertainties) and build innovative projects to act in sensitive areas: emission of greenhouse gases, water, cities, renewable energy potential.

During their travels to Paris-London-Wageningen, and Zurich-Berlin-London, they met scientists, industrial, policy makers, who explained how they incorporated the perspectives of climate change in their activities.

Students teams built  innovative projects designed to curb emissions of greenhouse gas emissions and adapt to the impacts of climate change. They presented their projects in London on 10^th-11^th August at a final competition before a panel of experts (scientists, industrial, financiers). The best projects will now be developed in laboratories or incubators of European universities.

For the second consecutive year, Master and Doctorale students and professors from UPMC have enthusiastically contributed to the success of the European Summer School "Climate, Environment and Innovation"!

The European Education Program "Climate-Environment and Innovation" (summer school, Masters, PhD) brings together European Universities and Grandes Ecoles, and is open to all students from the UPMC Master.
