Coming to UPMC within the framework of an exchange programme
Your are an international student coming within the framework of an international program.
BEFORE YOUR REGISTRATION, IF YOU ARE COMING FROM A NON EUROPEAN COUNTRY
VISA
You must apply for your visa several weeks before your arrival at the French consulate or the CEF – Centres des etudes en France – of your country.
The visa D is compulsory if your stay in France will exceed three months. It enables you to obtain a ‘carte de séjour étudiant’ upon your arrival into France.
Enrolling at UPMC
There are two mandatory phases for enrollment at the university.
Administrative enrollment
As soon as you arrive in Paris, you need to process your administrative enrollment in person at the following address:

Opening hours:
Monday to Friday from 9h00 to 12h00 and from 13h30 to 17h30
Closed to the public on Wednesday and Friday afternoon
European student:

For your administrative enrollment you must provide the following documents:
- passport or national identity card
- proof of your participation in the exchange programme (e.g. Erasmus student contract downloadable for sciences
, biology
, or medicine
, or an application form
, only for international students outside of Erasmus) - photocopy of your student registration card from your home university for the current year.
- photocopy of your most recently awarded degree
- proof of health cover translated into French or English: form E111 or E 128 or European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) (for European students), SE 401 Q102 bis (for students from Quebec) or private health insurance (students from the US, Japan, etc.)
- 2 identity photos
- civil liability insurance for internships
Medical students must also provide:
- civil liability insurance
- medical liability insurance
- vaccination certificates + photocopy (BCG, polio, diphtheria, tetanus, hepatitis B)
You will be issued with a student card entitling free access to UPMC student services (libraries, university restaurant, sporting and cultural activities, etc).
Course Enrollment
As an overseas student on an exchange programme, you are not enrolled on a full degree course but rather on course modules, or certificates (medicine). You can enroll on the various modules, specified in the student application form, at the University academic offices. You will be given their contact details by the UPMC International Relations Mobility Centre when you arrive in Paris.
