Bachelor of Formulation Chemistry Professions (vocational)

This course gives supplementary training to technicians with a BTS or a DUT to make them eligible for assistant engineer positions in the field of formulation chemistry: in the paint, glue, varnish, polymer, cosmetics industries, etc.








Discipline specific skills:

  • Evaluate the technical feasibility of the product, taking into account regulatory and economic constraints
  • Translate the client’s needs and expectations for the utilisation of the formulated product into technical solutions
  • Write user instructions and data sheets for products
  • Identify the materials, techniques and protocols to be used for implementing the chosen solution
  • Choose ingredients for the formula and guide the choice of materials for manufacturing the product
  • Create new applications and new formulas for products

Chemistry, apprenticeships


Research and development laboratories within the chemical industry (manufacturing of development of paint, glue, various coatings, cosmetics), or companies contracted by big-industrial groups.


This is a dual education course which runs over 33 weeks, combining vocational training with an apprenticeship (CFA AFI24). Each semester consists of 4 papers. The tutored project is organized within the university’s research laboratories.


ENCPBNouvelle fenêtre (École Nationale de Chimie, Physique et Biologie) hosts students on its premises for part of the course.

Well-targeted public

Students with a BTS or DUT in chemistry, or equivalent level.

Corresponding L2 (120 ECTS).

Submission of an application file is required, followed by an interview. Definitive enrolment depends on the signature of an apprenticeship contract.
