Frederick Pouzy, hammer throwing

Frederik Pouzy

With an impressive record of awards, it is now the Olympic Games in Beijing that Frédérick is aiming for, a student in the first year of a master’s degree in fundamental and applied chemistry. He trains and lives within the National Institute of Sport and Physical Education (INSEP), a partner establishment of UPMC that supports high-level athletes.
‘Being a student and athlete at UPMC makes daily life a lot easier. I have very good contacts within my secretariat. The staff there are easy to reach. It’s a real advantage. And then, finally, even if I take more time than a normal student, my degree will also be reputable. I would love to continue to manage my sport and professional careers at the same time. You must know that the hammer throw is not a sports discipline that you can live from. ’ Thus, he has the next Olympic Games in China as well as those in London in 2012 in his sights. ‘ I have time to improve my performance !’
