Emilie Despierre

Emilie trains in Paris. So it was to UPMC that she went in order to study at the UPMC Institute of Statistics (ISUP).
2002 junior French champion, bronze medal winner at the 2006 University World Championships in China, 2007 senior and university French vice-champion, selected to participate in the Universiades in Bangkok in the same year, because of her wish to improve her performance, she makes the best of the conditions offered to young athletes at UPMC.
‘I really want to be an actuary (statistician in finance and insurance) but I also have other wishes such as returning to sport full-time once I have my degree in order to eventually try to qualify for the 2012 Olympic Games. At the moment, I’m preparing for the senior and university French championships.’


She is a true French champion and has qualified for the University World Championships, which will take place in Portugal from 5 to 10 May. She reached the final in two sets : 21-13 and 21-19.
